HOCKEY BIT STEP-BY-STEP PLAN.
STEP 1: Fill a container with boiling hot water. Boil enough water to completely submerge your mouthguard in the water for 30 to 60 seconds. Then immerse the mouthguard in the water. For example, feel with a fork every 15 seconds to see if the bit is becoming a little soft.
STEP 2: Then carefully remove the mouthguard. Pat it dry with a towel, or hold it briefly under cold water. So that you don't end up with a boiling hot mouthguard in your mouth. Then put it in your mouth, against your top teeth.
STEP 3: Now press the protector up against your molars with your thumbs. Clench your teeth firmly to get the impression of your teeth into the bottom of your mouthguard, and suck it against your top teeth. Place your tongue against the roof of your mouth to apply pressure and get a good fit around your teeth. This should take no longer than 15-20 seconds.
STEP 4: Remove the protector from your mouth and place it in cold water. Allow the protector to cool in the cold water for about a minute or two. After these minutes, try to see if the mouthguard fits properly. You are now ready to play hockey safely.
