Open cell foam heat bonded together under 1000 tons (1000 kg) of pressure to create a 1-piece cushion. This process removes adhesive that can harden and shatter over time and reduces the foam lamination seen in other pads. The outer layer of foam has a 'skin' or 'crust' that reduces the friction that occurs between pad & pitch, preventing sliding and throttling. The internal shape has been adjusted to fit a longer leg with the 2 straps positioned to fit around the calf and below the knee. Shaped to give the most. legal (under FIH regulations) saving area from the front, but also extended on the inside of the leg to extend the calf protection and give another increased saving area.

Inner cell is shaped to fit the leg, but is made of heat-sensitive foam that molds under pressure and conforms to the individual GK's shape within the first few weeks of use. Finally, the new strapping system features fully replaceable buckles (both male and female parts) and comfort pads to improve fit and reduce twisting.
